Trends in Civic Tech is an interactive tool for exploring the network of companies engaged at the intersection of technology, open government, and citizen engagement. Built in partnership with the Knight Foundation, using research from Quid, the tool showcases 209 civic tech organizations, their relationships to one another, and the balance of public and private investments they received between January 2011 and May 2013.

The organizations in the study are organized into two overarching themes and further subdivided into eleven innovation clusters. When fully expanded, users can click on any of the 209 companies in the study to find investment data as well as links to other companies with technological similarities.
